We’re about the Joy of Dancing!
Our passion is your dancer. You won’t believe how your dancer blossoms in self confidence, creativity and joy through our thoughtful, developmental program.
At Harp Irish Dance Company, we believe Irish dance is more than steps—it’s a way to build confidence, discipline, and joy that lasts a lifetime.
What began as one instructor teaching recreational classes in 1997 has grown into one of Utah’s leading Irish dance schools, serving dancers from age 3 through adult. Today, our studio is home to over 100 dancers, including a thriving competitive team and elite championship-level performers.
But no matter how much we grow, our focus remains the same:
every dancer matters, and every dancer can succeed.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple:
To develop strong, confident dancers in a positive and uplifting environment.
We are committed to helping each student grow—not only as a dancer, but as a person. Through consistent training, encouragement, and high expectations, our dancers learn to work hard, support one another, and take pride in their progress.
What Makes Harp Different
Not all dance schools are the same—and at Harp, we are intentional about creating something special.
✨ High-Level Training
Our dancers receive structured, progressive instruction that allows them to advance from beginner to elite levels. With over 50 competitive dancers and more than 20 competing at high-level championships, our program produces real results.
✨ A Positive, Supportive Culture
We believe dancers improve best in an environment where they feel encouraged and valued. Our studio culture emphasizes kindness, respect, and teamwork—so dancers can grow with confidence.
✨ Opportunities for Every Goal
Some dancers come for fun, fitness, and friendship. Others are driven to compete and perform at the highest levels. At Harp, both paths are supported and celebrated.
✨ A True Community
Harp Irish Dance Company is more than a studio—it’s a community. Our dancers and families build lasting friendships and support each other both inside and outside the classroom.

Why the Harp?

To tell the history of the Irish harp is to tell the history of its people. The harp has always stood as an integral part of its culture. It is the official national symbol of Ireland, often appearing on the flag, and appears on the back of all Irish coins.
It was the instrument of the Bards. It became important because it was used to accompany the recitation or the singing of stories and thus to preserve the oral history.
The Dagda, one of the old Irish gods, is often depicted with a harp. Irish bards were supposed to be able to play three different types of tunes with magical properties on the harp – tunes that would move their listeners to tears, laughter, or sleep.
Aubree Shelley, TCRG, recognizes the power of dance as a natural storyteller and form of expression. Your child will learn how to communicate to their audiences, and tell the story of Irish Culture through dancing.
